The situation:
I tried to copy files directly from floppy to a flash disk. WinXP Prof
stopped responding (even mouse cursor didn't move). I reinstalled WinXP as
it resetted every time I loaded it (on the welcome screen). After
trouble-free reinstallation (full, after formatting the drive) I installed
every device, but when I tried to install my USB modem the system didn't
recognize it. Next I tried to install my USB mouse - it didn't recognize it
either. Flash disk don't work too. These devices ARE functioning properly as
they work on my laptop (on which I write this post). My question is: is it
possible that copying from diskette to flashdisk caused all these problems?
Oh, in addition I can tell you that in the Device Manager I CAN SEE three
USB HOST CONTROLLERS functioning properly.
Can you help? Can this be fixed e.g.by hardware service?
MB: GigaByte GA7-VA.
Thanks.
