My Lexmark 3150 recently stopped working. It's connect via USB. I have a
webcam hooked up via USB also that still works. My printer is only 4 months
old. I believe it to be a USB problems since my computer (Win XP) doesn't
even recongize that the printer is connected anymore.

I've tried everything from trying to reinstall the software to uninstalling
and reinstalling the USB Hub and Hub root. Still doesn't work. Anyone have
any ideas or have run into this similar problem?

Thanks

Try a different USB cable.

Is the power chord plug into the outlet, are both ends of the USB cable connect

If possible use a different USB cable

Try using a different computer, if that doesn't solve the problem-it's the printer

Does it show in device manager under USB printing support

I did that too. No luck. Thanks for the advice.

It doesn't show up in the device manager. I will try it on a different
computer and get back with you. I'm hoping that my USB ports aren't going
bad.

Does the printer have a self-test?

Check your USB Root Hubs in device manager under power options
make sure that allow windows to turn off this device to save power is
not ticked.
