USB printer dead?

Hey all.

I've got WinXP pro running on an Asus Motherboard with
built in USB support including USB 2.0. I know the USB
ports work because I've got a flash memory key that works
just fine with them.

However, I've got an old (and up till now very dilligent)
Espon Stylus Color 670 printer that worked very well
under Win98 for me. I went to install it today and No
luck. When I make the USB connection I get that normal
little two-tone windows sound ("dadunk!") and
then. . .nothing.

Attempting to run through the add hardware wizard in the
control panel has also yeilded no results, it claims
there is nothing connected.

I can turn the printer on, and feed paper through it, so
I know the printer hasn't had a gross hardware failure.
Has my USB support on the printer just failed, and should
I give up and just get a normal printer cable, or should
I just get a new printer?

Thanks,

- Patrick

Get an Epson printer driver for XP from Epson's website.
