I am having a problem sharing a printer. Here is the basic setup:

Computer A :
Win 2000 with Lexmark Z60 USB printer connected

Computer B :
Win98

Computer C, D & E:
Win 2000

All are networked (ethernet) on a workgroup & Computer A has printer shared
allowing Full Access to all users. When i try to install the printer to
Computers B, C, D & E the port is shown as a Virtual USB port and not
\\ComputerA\PrintShareName as i would have expected??. When I send a print
job from Computers B, C, D or E the job just gets stuck in the queue, and
the only way to delete it is to stop the Print Spooler service on Computer
A. I have tried setting it up on Computer B (win98) but this doesnt work
either. Does anyone have any suggestions??

When you examine the Printer Properties of a connection, the Ports that are
listed are those of the remote system sharing the printer.

The jobs are spooled in EMF format and rendering is performed at the server
(Computer A). Check if the Print Processor is winprint (Properties /
Advanced / Print Processor. I think Lexmark has there own print processor
to handle the data formatting which may not interpret the EMF data properly.
You can force the clients to print in RAW (data is formatted at the client
rather than the server).

Create a local printer on one of the clients, create a Local Port with the
name \\ComputerA\PrinterShareName use the Lexmark Driver
