Hi,

I recently updated to Win XP, and the
USB ports don't work--I used to have Win2k Professional and the ports were
working well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Service Pack 1 added support for USB 2.0 ports. I assume
that you have installed SP1a.

If you have installed the SP, then right click on My
Computer, select properties. Select the Hardware tab and
click on Device Manager. Make sure that you do not have
any devices with yellow question marks on them.

Then you can click on the plus sign under USB controllers
and make sure they are listed.

I would also recommend checking with your hardware vendor
to see if there are any driver updates.

I am having similar problems with Windows XP, specifically
with a Brother MFC 5200C printer. It will be recognised
when I first turn it on in a session, but if I turn it off
then on again it isn't recognised. This sin't happening
for my digital camera though, which works just fine.

Anyone out there got a solution? Have removed the USB Hub
Controllers and made XP reinstall, have latest printer
drivers. Brother don't want to know.

Cheers.
