How many USB connections is it possible to have? My pc
seems to be having problems. I have 2 built in ports and
one 4 hub extension, thing is I could do with adding
another 4 hub extension for another couple of gadgets...
is it possible?

(Already connected are: Graphics tablet, scanner, netmd,
broadband modem and digicam, would really like to add my
printer on aswell!)

Any advice will be gratefully received!

It depends on whether your ports are high-power or low-power. High-power
ports typically supply 5 unit loads (1 unit load = 100 ma) and low-power is
1 unit load. Each port on the expansion hub provides 1 unit load (low-power
devices), and the expansion port consumes 1 unit load for its use. If the
port is a low-power port, you can only have 1 low-power device attached and
no expansion hub. If you have an expansion hub with external power, it can
provide up to 5 unit loads per port. Note: high-power devices can require
2-5 unit loads. The device driver is responsible for disallowing high-power
operation if it would exceed the ports capacity.

I believe that you can have 127 USB ports on a PC. Although, not every port
would be connected directly on the motherboard. You can add ports with
self-powered hubs (for high-powered devices) and USB powered hubs (for
low-power devices)..
