I have a desktop that doesn't have any usb ports what do
I need to get to install them? I have a pentium 2- 233
mhz desktop, running windows 2000.
Appreciate any information you might have.

Your motherboard may have an unused USB header (a set of pins) that
could provide onboard USB support with a inexpensive pice of hardware.
See your motherboard manual.
Otherwise buy a used PCI slot USB card.
Eitherway you need to open up the case.
If you don't feel comfortable doing that I would suggest getting a
newer model used computer. A 200mhz system is seriously out of date
and under powered for Win2K and not worth putting much money into.
Considering that $300-400 will get get you a brand new 2 to 3 Giga
hertz system complete (10 to 15 times a powerful as your current
system !)
Although my wife is quite happy with her 200mhz PentiumPro system.
Go figure
