USB ports stopped working

I have new Compaq 4100 and 4200 workstations running XP.
I installed local USB printers and scanners on them and
than applied SP1 and all outstanding hotfixes. At this
point, the boxes could not "see" the printers or
scanners. In Device Manager, it indicates that the USB
ports are OK, but when I delete the printers and run the
hardware wizard, the OS can not see them. I have tried
reinstalling the printer drivers, but no luck.

Any ideas?

Jon, try removing all the printer and scanner software, disconnect the
printer and scanner. Reboot and reinstall the software and then connect the
devices.
