USB port isn't working

My computer has 2 USB ports on the front.

Only one of them is working properly.

The other one usually doesn't detect a drive insertion or only on the
2nd try.

I have one of those cards that has additional ports, but then I would
have to run a cord
to the front and glue the connector to the side of the computer.

Oh, also inspect the port carefully for damage.
