USB overload?

My printer no longer works. It is a Canon MP730. Have I damaged it? It
connects to the PC via USB. The computer end of the lead plugs intp a
Belkin 4 port USB2 hub. Stupidly, I plugged the wrong power lead into
the hub and got a warning on the PC of a power overload on the hub.

Printer went offline and has not worked since (though it still copies
and scans). Can I have put too much power down the lead and burnt
something out in the printer?

I have tried the printer with another computer - same result.

When you say it scans I assume you mean when copying, and not scanning to the
PC.
I would expect that if the USB interface on the printer is damaged you would be
unable to scan to the PC but scan to print may still work.
Since you have the same problem with a different PC I suspect the interface is
damaged, with most printers this would require the main PCB to be replaced and
in most cases it would be cheaper to replace the printer (unfortunately). I
have also assumed that you tested the printer on the second PC with a direct
USB connection (no hub) and a different USB cable?????

What voltage was the wrong mains adaptor?
