Hi,
I just got a new PC, and have set it up etc. so I now have two bigger
machines and a portable, all networked and working fine. So far, so good....
With the new PC I got a copy of Orlogix's 'Transfer My PC', which I haven't
used. I've read up, on the Web, about USB networking and was thinking about
whether I could do it with my Orlogix cable. It appears that it might be the
special cable you need for USB networking, but I can't actually tell.
Can anyone advise me on this, and suggest where I might get suitable network
drivers for it?
I was initially thnking that this might be a good way to temporarily connect
a portable to someone else's network, but it seems like a lot of setting up
is needed, so it's not a simple procedure like a DCC or Laplink style link.
Unless you know different......
All advice gratfully received.
Thanks, John
P.S. Please don't say "get a nic and an ethernet cable for the portable". I
have those, also a 802.11 radio link. I'm just thinking and experimenting,
and looking at alternative approaches, as much as a learning tool as for
anything useful.
