When replace mouse with new USB optical mouse, will new mouse install their
own drivers? Is there a way to remove drivers from old mouse?

If you want to remove old drivers and software, use the Control
Panel->Add/Remove Programs.

For normal features, a USB mouse will not need drivers on Windows XP, Vista
or Windows 7. For special buttons and extra features, the mouse will have
drivers either on CD, or downloaded from the manufacturers website.

I can't say what is actually installed on your PC, but Windows 7 does not
need any extra drivers for a regular 2 button mouse. Drivers to talk to a
regular USB mouse has been included in Windows for many years.

I have a wireless Trackball and wired 2 button mouse hooked to USB
ports at the same time. (I prefer 2button mouse for gaming). I can use
either one at any time. Windows7 installed drivers for both of them.
I'd guess you could remove drivers for old mouse using Device Manager,
but why? Don't think they hurt anything.

The only reason is performance. Over time, windows will end up loading lots
of things that it doesn't require - this is just one tiny driver, but it all
adds up over the months.
