USB mouse problem

Every time I turn on my computer, it appears to "forget"
that there is a USB mouse attached. Unplugging the mouse
and the re-attaching it causes the computer to detect the
mouse, and it works fine - but I don't want to have to do
that every time I turn the computer on.

In Device Manager, I disabled the "Allow the computer to
turn off this device to save power" option for all USB
root hubs to see if this would make a difference, but it
didn't.

Is this a new mouse or did it just start to have problems. If it is new
mouse that doesn't work.?
Try checking in your Bios and see if there is a setting for legacy USB
devices. If so it should be enabled. Also the BIOS may have a setting for
Plug and Play OS under a boot configuration. Turn this to OFF or NO. No
allows the BIOS to configure all devices and is the appropriate setting when
using a Plug and Play OS like Win XP. If it seems backwards, it is not. The
Bios configures the devices needed to boot
