Hi,

I've discovered a problem with my P4PE board (bios 1006) and Logitech MX700
mouse (receiver connected to a USB port). If I shut the power off to my PC
and then on and boot, XP (Pro, SP1) does not detect the mouse.

I've found two solutions so far: 1) unplug and replug the receiver, and 2)
do a shut down, then boot again - a simple restart does not do the trick.
Other tricks that also didn't work: use another USB port, fiddle with USB
Legacy Support in BIOS, using native mouse drivers, using latest MouseWare
driver, playing around with power management settings for USB Root Hub in
Device Manager.

While the solutions certainly work, I'd like to know if this is a
known/common problem, and if anyone knows about a more permanent fix?

/Mikael

I had a similar problem with a Microsoft wireless mouse on my A7N8X D.
I use a USB to PS/2 converter and it works fine now. I really didn't
like using that approach all that much but it did work.

I have the A7v333 And it does the same thing i have found ,that if i don't
use or move the mouse or keyboard until the password screen is up it always
seems to load the mouse and keyboard..

A mouse that will not work under the worst possible conditions is totally
useless. Use the PS/2 adapter.
