USB mouse plonking in & out

This development just started yesterday. Plunk out, plunk in, wipe on,
wipe off.
Haven't changed the port it's plugged into, nor installed anything new for
acouple of weeks now. Only prog new I noticed was a small update from
Steampowered.com for playing TFC.
Mouse is a RazorUSB I bought maybe 5 yrs ago. Think it might be the mouse
dying a slow death?
Motherboard is a Gigabyte 7NNXP BIOS F15
Running WinXP Pro w/SP1
Only other USB port being used is for a Saitek joystick with no problems.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Perhaps you need to change it to a new USB port. Maybe the USB port is dying a slow death...
