USB Mouse freezes

My USB Logitech thumbwheel mouse freezes on the screen
about every four minutes for 20 seconds. I also have a
regular mouse plugged in. This continues to operate fine.
The freeze ends with a short burst of disk activity.
Any thoughts on cause/fixing this?

Sounds like something is "evaluating" the USB and then timing out. Try
opening Taskmanager and Set processes to list by "CPU" and see what
pops to the top around the 20 sec and burst of activity event.

Is your motherboard an Intel w/850 chipset?
