I upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows XP. Everything works
fine EXCEPT for my HP Optical mouse. It freezes up every
15 or 20 minutes and I have to unplug it and plug it back
in in order to get it to work. Any ideas on how I can
correct this. I love XP and do NOT want to sawitch back to
98.
I have a MSI K7T Turbo 2 mother board with 768 megs of
memory and a 1.15gHZ AMD Athlon CPU... I have tried
EVERYTHING to get this mouse to work properly. I am
getting tired of the unplugging and olug in.. :(

Thanks for your help

Hi

Maybe it's a driver. Have you tried to install the newest driver for
mouse? Maybe it's USB, not the mouse driver problem.

Hi

Try use it on other PC
If the same symthoms appeared, the optical mouse may be faulty
If it can work normally in other PC, check the USB root hub
Go to device manager/univeral Seiral Bus Controller/USB Root Hub/properties/power manag
Ensure the box "let windows shutdown this device to save electricity" is checked
