Hi there
I have added a USB optical mouse to my laptop and my desktop.
In both cases the mouse is uncontrollable... dashing all over the screen and
then to the top left of the screen.
I have removed the PS/2 mouse; have tried different USB ports. Windows XP
recognises the mouse when plugged in.
Can anyone help please?
Thank You

What type of surface is it being used on ? If it is a desk with grain lines the lines may be
throwing it off.

The mouse just worked, no drivers needed. The seller confirmed that the mouse
was XP compatible. The movement of the mouse has nothing to do with me moving
the mouse........ I did not need to touch the mouse and it was haring all
over the place - rather like someone else was controlling it.

I was actually using it on a mouse mat; but tried other surfaces. I was not
even touching the mouse and it was racing all over the place on the screen -
rather like someone else was controlling it!

Sounds like a bad mouse, I would look for a refund.

Thanks for your help David - I think you might be right. Will try a
replacement. Thanks for your assistance.
