USB modem turns off on A7V8X-X

Hi, I have a A7V8X-X: asus motherboard. I'm connected on an Asus USB modem,
and before i had no problem. Now i have done a format on my pc and since
i've done this... i can connect to the internet, but after a short while, my
usb sockets seem to be dead.

All the lights on my modem suddenly turn off, and i have to reboot to get
back a connection. Rather frustrating if you you want to do some work on the
internet.

Is this a known problem?

In my control panel, i've already turned the powersave off on the usbs...

Help!

Thanks,
Krijn

Did you really switch off power saving on _all_ main USB hubs?
Did you switch off power saving in general?

Turned off all USB hub power save options in the control panel...
That is why it's so frustrating...

I can't really think of another problem. I'm working back on my old pc
now...
Can it be that i have to change something in the bios?

Thanx,
Krijn

Have you looked for any power saving/security hooks in the modem's
software/drivers that shut it down after XX minutes of inactivity and is
making it look as if it's the port? Tried different ports with the same
result? I can't think of anything in BIOS that will effect only the USB
ports.
