Vista see my USB key when I insert it but I get this error:

Try other USB slots...

(Check within the device manager for IRQ collisions...)

I'm seeing the same problem. The memory stick appear (as "(FS) FLASH DISK" in
device mgr), and I can browse it, copy to it etc - 5 seconds later Vista
removes it and prompts for drivers to be installed.

I sense a bug.

Did you check the BIOS settings related to USB and to hard disks?

I can not use it Jon

If I wait a long time I see F in the Explorer

Do you have a AMD system ?
With Win XP there was no problem on the same system

Yes, AMD with Vista x86 RTM. Tried the same memory stick on an Intel with
Vista x86 RTM and it worked fine.

The chipset is an nForce, could be a bug in the drivers - nVidia drivers have
been pretty aweful throughout the Vista beta.

Open Device Manager and expand "Portable Device", then plug the device in.
You'll see it appear and then immediately disappear. We'll have to file a bug
report on it.

Thanks Jon

Glad you have the same problem said:

I will report it also

Hello

I have the same Problem. With Win XP x64 and x68 I have no USB Problems. Now
i installed Vista x64 and no USB 2.0 device work. I have a USB mouse that
work fine.

My System is an Abit Main board NI8 SLI with Nforce4.
After ~6 sec . i plugged in a USB stick a Windows appear "usb device is
not recognized" put only by USB 2.0 devices.
There's a running theme here, possibly an nForce driver issue then.

Does anyone with an AMD system NOT have a problem with USB memory sticks?

Hi Jon

I format my system and install the 64 bit version of Vista and no problem
anymore ?

Very strange
