Hi, I've loaded the driver for this external floppy drive
by Iomega. I go into device manager and it shows it
without a exclamation point yet, when I go to my computer
there is no 3 1/2 drive showing. When I pop a disk in
nothing happens. This is connected through a usb cable.
Also, this is a new computer with windows xp. I've tried
all the troubleshooting ideas from Iomega and windows.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like u tried installing iomega with it connected.
goto add/remove programs remove any thing pertaining to the drive-goto
device manager remove the driver/uninstall.
turn off pc-remove usb connection-restart-once all done-install drivers-then
i found rebooting works best-then after starting hook the usb iomega back
in.
See if that works.

Check with Iomega that a driver install is necessary. Most USB floppy
drives are truly plug and play in XP.

ok i work for pc world and this is a common problem with
the external drives.

You need to delete the upper and lower limit buffers in
the computers registry to get it to work. If you look at
the articles in the microsoft support archive and look
for the title drive not recognised after installing easy
cd creator you should come accross one that talks about
deleting buffers from your registry. this is the one you
need. We have this problem all the time and it is easy to
fix.
