USB HUBS-leads to system freeze and crash! Help!!!

Hi,
I'm having trouble with my laptop, recently, whenever i insert a USB device,
my PC cant detect them, like thumb drive and stuff. all of my USB hubs, tend
to not be able to detect any devices (excluding mouse) , and then slowly my
pc would freezes, and crashes...everytime this happens! and before, there was
thIs blue screen, it says something about hardware or software that was newly
installed caused some sort of memory problem, and i have to uninstall it, the
thing is, i didnt install any hardware, and the recently installed software
has been deleted...the message never pops up again, does the blue screen had
to do with my USB device? i USED the trouble shooter, system status says it's
working fine, but still, it freezes everytime i insert any thumb drives!
HELP!!! and yes, my USB starts malfunctioning after that blue screen pop
ups....pls, help...many thanx!!!

For starters, what USB devices are causing this problem? And
for the blue screen, what is the message?
 
Devices such as, thumb drives, any thumb drive, and external usb 3 1/2
floppy, but mous seems to work fine, i've checked whether the bandwith
exceeded but the device manager seemed to be saying it's fine...and the blue
screen cmae up once, i cant remember what exactly, but it's said something
about new hardware or software installed caused some sort of memory damage
and suggested i uninstall, and reinstall it again....i tried to uninstall the
driver, and reinstall it again....but to no avail...and my pc freezes in a
weird way, i mean it's more like, programs that i click to run do not execute
itself whenever i plug in the devices...when i click for example windows care
to run, it doesnt pop up no matter how many times i click or enter to luanch
the prog...same goes with other programs.....and i cant seem to shut my pc
either, after awhile of inexecutable programs, then it freezes....so what's
wrong really? and my u.sb port is 2.0, could it be that i install to many
programs that could cause thsi problem? i mean, is there a limited number as
to how many programs i can run on my pc in relation to memory, i have 512 mb
ram
