Sometimes, when I boot up my PC, my kensington 72121
optical mouse won't
work. It'll be completely dead.
If I look behind my PC, I'll see that all four lights on
my USB hub (that my
mouse, web cam and digi cam upload cable plug into) are
off. I have to
carefully haul out the usb hub's connector from the
computer, being careful
not to disconnect any other cables, and plug it back in
again. This always
fixes it, but I bought the hub to get rid of the
inconvenience of swapping
about usb plugs. I've tried it in the other usb port on
the pc, powered and
non-powered. I'm using a Win 98 PC. Any ideas?

had problems with my kensington usb mouse also.
finally switched to a belkin usb mouse.

might try new mouse driver............
www.driverguide.com
found driver for my hp keyboard here.......

The problem isn't with the mouse, it's with the hub it's plugged into.
I run into the problem occasionally but have never figured it out.
Its' not really that big of an inconvenience to unplug/plug the hub
back in maybe once a month.

Depending on what is connected to the usb hub, it may be that the usb port
of the computer can not provide enough power to the hub and usb devices.

Does your usb hub come with an extra power adapter? The hub should have its
own power adapter and provide extra power to the usb devices.
