Hi,
Can anyone help with this please. I'm running XP Pro patch too but not
including SP2 RC1.

I have a USB HP Photosmart 7260 printer and the only way I could get the
drivers installed
was to unclick every program in the startup section of msconfig.

However no matter what I try (and HP are unable to help) I can not turn my
printer off without
getting the blue screen of death. However should I boot the computer and
plug the power and USB
once my PC has booted I can turn the printer on and off on its front panel
without any problems
at all.

I have removed all USB posts in Device Manager and rebooted, manual cleaned
out the registry after
removing the driver for what seen sto be the 100th time but still the blue
screen of death if I turn the printer
off.

CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE as next stop is the tip, and replace it with a Epson

Thank you for ANY assistance that you may be able to provide.

I have found that Hp is about as much help as a sore finger. First did you install the printer the right way. Hp has a certain way it has to be done. Like loading the program , then turning on the printer, pluging in one cable and then the other. I do not know if this is what is wrong, but I do not if it is not done in order it will not work right. Make sure when reinstalling the program you delete everything that protains to the Hp program first. Run a search and check that way. Then try a clean install; see lin

Hope this helps.
