Michael

I have had my computer for a couple of yrs. I have
upgraded to XP Pro a while back...My computer has 2 USB
Ports up front and 2 on the back. My question is, How
can I tell if they are hi-speed ports and if not is there
a way to update the drivers or would I need to upgrade
the hardware.

Thanks

Mike

In order to have hi-speed USB 2 ports working you need

1) XP Service Pack 1 installed

2) An "enhanced" USB controller in Device Management (Device
Manager)

If you do not have a "enhanced" controller, you will need to add the
hardware to your system. You will have to add a USB 2.0 controller to your
system (PCI or PCMCIA) because the low speed (USB 1x) contoller can not be
upgraded to hi-speed.

Good morning Mike,
I am not sure if I can help. I too
have cox hi-speed. I have a usb in the front and in the
back of my computer. I have my modem connected to the
usb in the front. You may want to try it. Call cox tech
support. I am sure they can help you.

Blessed: You are off topic. Mike is asking about hi-speed USB port not cox
hi-speed internet.
