Does anyone know if Windows places any limitation on the size of HD
that can be accessed as an external USB (2.0) device?

No, as far as I am aware, USB does not limit the size of volumes you can
have at the other end of the cable. You will, however, be limited by max
partition size that a partition table can contain, 2TB, but this is not an
implementation in the operating system.

The largest USB-disk today is 1.6TB (LaCie Bigger Disk Extreme).

Thanks, Bjorn .... it's what I was hoping to hear.
