Hi,

I was hooking up a verizon pda with broadband and was going to use it as a
wireless modem. I installed the files on my pc first like I should have.
When I plugged in the pda xv6700 it found new hardware and I stopped the
download. I thought their might be a problem. Since aborting it I can not
restart it or uninstall it so it finds the new hardware again. It does find
new hardware but it wont auto load for the drivers again and said they are
present. The drivers are not present.

How can I unistall what happened so it is start over from the beginning?

Thanks

Did you try:

1. Open Control Panel | System | Hardware
2. Click on Device Manager
3. Find your device support for PDA
4. If present, uninstall it.
5. Immediately reboot

When the system comes up, it may say that it detected new hardware, and run
thru the New Hardware Wizard.
Just make sure you chose that you want to manually look for the drivers.

Are the drivers located in your software folder you installed to, or is
there a copy on an installation cd?

Larry,

Thanks for the fast response. I looked where you said and see that a
universal serial bus controller seems to be loaded. Is that loaded
automatically when it finds new hardware and I aborted the install process?
So should I remove the universal serial bus controller?

It all depends. Do you have any other USB devices connected to your system,
e.g., keyboard, mouse, joy sticks, memory sticks, ...

Don't delete anything that is part of the basic system.

What I meant was, is their anything there, in all the selections, that
resembles something referencing you PDA?
Did you check your installation disk to see if there was any driver folder.

When you mentioned you stopped the download, what did you mean. Did it
connect out to the internet and tried to update the drivers?

If so, you should be able to go to that web-site and search for support of
your device and download any updates manually. Once installed, reboot and
you SHOULD be fine.
