WinXP pro Sp2. Formatted NTFS. I have an internal floppy drive which works
just fine.
I've picked up a USB floppy drive. This is the problem: I can read and
write in the internal drive, the computer recognizes the USB drive as a
floppy drive and assigns it the letter B. I cannot read a floppy in this
drive. I get told it is unformatted and do I want to format it? When I say
yes, the format dialogue box comes up with all entries empty and I cannot
fill them. If I try to format or close this box, I get a message that drive
b cannot be formatted.
I have another WinXP pro, Sp2 machine which has no problem with the USB
drive. So why won't the newer one read it?
Thank you. Roberta
