Hi, I've got a USB pen drive that has decided to stop working - it's
not being recognised by the computer and apparently has stopped
drawing power (light doesn't go on). It's got a lot of important stuff
on it - does anyone know of a way I can extract these documents or
does it sound like the drive is dead and gone? Any help would be
hugely appreciated!

Try another computer. If it works, your PC may have a flaky driver or
something. Sometimes my USB memory device fails to work if my PC has
been running for a while.

Thanks for your reply - I've tried it on a couple now and still the
same problem. I've called up some data recovery specialists so
hopefully something will come through that way. Cheers

THey can very likely help you. In all probability the FLASH chip is
fine, since they are pretty rugged. One recovery approach is to
unsolder the FLASH chip and read it with oyher equipment. Very hard
to do on hobbyist level, but easy with the right tools.
