USB Flash Drives without Admin Rights

Is it possible to use a USB Flash Drive with and account that doesn't
have administrator rights in Windows XP?

Yes; in fact, by default it shouldn't require admin rights. What happens
when you try?
 
we're having issues with this.
Only in the last two weeks has somethng changed that means when non-admin
members of our domain insert a USB flash drive it prompts for authentication.
this never used to be a problem. i need help with this, has anyone else had
this problem lately?
 
ok we've found a fix for our problem.
we had recently setup a root certificate deployment to our domain machines.
in doing this, any PC which has the certificate was preventing a non-admin
user installing an unsigned driver and opening their USB keys. took the
certificate out and hey presto, non admin user able to use USB key. hope this
helps someone.
