USB Flash Drive

Ever since I purchased a 4GB flash drive it takes ages to transfer around
120MB to it, ages I mean at least 10 mins
I had a 2GB drive before this from the same manufacture which wasn't this
slow.

A reasonable one. You've established that other devices from that
manufacturer work as expected, which points to it being possibly an issue
with this particular device - either the spec of the model is different, or
there's a fault in the particular one you have.

In either case, taking it up with the manufacturer is a reasonable next
step, wouldn't you say?
 
That's what I would have done in the first place, I thought someone here may
shed some light on why it is doing what it is doing, nevertheless thanks

Well if you want a guess, my first thought would be that it's working as a
USB 1.1 drive for some reason.
