I got this 8 gb lfash drive from Hong Kong (ebay). For most file types
it works ok. You copy pdfs, jpegs, mp3s or program setup files to it,
and they are OK, they execute/play. However, I have tried copying
WMV,AVI, MPG, FLV, and MOV files to it, and WMP 11, quicktime, and my
FLV player will not play them. Even if I copy them back to the desktop
hard drive, they do not play. But, the file size is still the same.
So I am wondering if it has to do with the file size rather than type.
I can't imagine how type would make a difference, since bytes of a
movie file are still just strings of zeroes and ones, same as any
other file. But maybe there are errors occurring with very long files?
Windows XP wont check a flash drive for errors. I need some utility
I guess that will...that .will check MBR and all storage addresses.
Its FAT 32 format. ANy ideas? I need to be sure its defective before
returning it. THe main reason I got it was to transfer large files,
mostly movies, to my laptop!
