I have a USB FDD that I can boot from and also use in XP - works
perfect. If however, I have a diskette in the drive during bootup of
XP, during the bootup process it makes some funny noises and then the
diskette can NOT be read.
The event log shows:
The device, \Device\Floppy0, has a bad block.
I can always reformat the diskette and get it working again. If I boot
up XP with no diskette inserted in the USB drive and then insert the
diskette everything works perfectly.
I have tried this on an HP and Dell machine with same results.
Thanks in advance.
