HELP
I am running xp and have an dvd-rw in an external case
which connects via usb.
How do I get it to consistantly connect? When I plug it in
it recognises there is a usb device, searches and comes up
with unknown / not recognised. I have tried all sorts of
ways, plugging in before boot up, after boot up,
uninstalling and trying again.
Eventually after a varying number of times of me
unplugging and replugging the device it comes up with
found USB mass storage device, it the recognises the drive
and shows up as a pioneer 107 dvd-rw in 'my computer'
There is not set pattern to this, it may happen after 3
goes or 23 or sometimes I have just got fed up and not
bothered.

Any advice gratefully received, if I have posted this in
the wrong place please let me know and I will repost

THANKS

Hi,

DVD R/W should be a USB 2.0 device and should be self-powered.
Did you plug it into a USB 2.0 port?
Do you encounted R/W problems?
Have you installed SP1 or SP1a?
What DVD burning software you have installed?

Pls post back with details.

Peter
