I have had two USB drive partitions fail. In both cases power to the
drive was interrupted while windows xp pro was starting up. On one
drive there were two partitions, 1 FAT and 1 NTFS, the NTFS partition
was inaccessable after the power glitch and the disk manager reported
it as being a healthy partition but no OS on it. The FAT partition
was ok. On the other drive there was a single large NTFS partition
and it ended up just like the first one, no OS. After reformating b
oth partitions appear normal. Has anyone else had this happen and
have you found a solution?
