When I plug my digital camera into my system, running
Windows XP Pro. v5.1 (SP-1), the device manager recognizes
it but it refuses to show up on the TOC for My Computer
and Windows Explorer.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Greg

Plug the camera in, turn it ON. Then open MY Computer and
right click the camera and select the action you want to
happen (on the properties menu).

Have you followed the other part of the advice?

| The situation exists when the camera IS turned on.

Also, make sure the camera batteries are fully charged
(fresh) or use external power.

Just to recap:

1. Camera is pluggged into USB Port and turned on.
2. LED on camera reads "PC".
3. Batteries in camera are at 50%.
4. Device Manager on PC recognizes camera.
5. TOC/Directory Tree in My Computer and Windows Explorer
does not list USB External Device as a drive.
6. ... therefore cannot access device properties.

Will try new batteries however as you suggest.

Thanks,
Greg
