I bought a new PC and in the excitement of setting it up,
plugged my wife's casio E200 pocket PC in BEFORE
installing activesync. Now it will not recognize, sync
or find the driver for the E200. This is more of an XP
issue with the E200 cradle. I have succesfully connected
a different Pocket PC in another usere profile on the new
computer. I am petty sure this is a registry thing. I
have been through the MS knowledge base without success.
Any suggestions???

Hi

You can run regedit and clear the VID subkeys for your Casio PDA
CARE-----Export and save the subkeys before deletion for just in case

Or, try as below

Power off the machine
Disconnect any USB devices
Boot in safe mode and logon as administrator
Go to device manager and uninstall the USB Open Host controller(for USB 1.0 or USB 1.1) , click apply and OK
Reboot the machine; windows should find the USB controller and install the drivers(asumming you have installed SP1
Install Active Syn and than connect the Casio PDA as instructed

Hope it helps

Pete

Thanks, I tried option #2 and it didn't help. As soon as I reinstalled active sync & plugged the cradle in I got the same error. I will try option #1 now. Looking for the VID subkeys
