USB Device for Files and Music

Hello,
What brand of USB device, such as Scandisk can be used to carry files and
music from 1 PC to another. Are they all plug and play? Recognized by XP as
external device?

Check in your Device Manager H, and see what USB drivers
you have. If you have Enhanced, you`ve got USB 2.
Apart from that any fairly large pen drive should do the job
nowadays.
Of course someone will tell you, that their so and so drive failed.
That`s par for the course. The Important thing is to dismount the
drive before unplugging it.

If you are thinking of a thumb drive they all will be recognized by XP.
98 and below require drivers. Linux can recognize them also I believe.
