USB device conflict

I have a Pentium III 266 running Windows 2000
professional. When my USB D-Link wireless network card is
plugged in with my Umax Astra 3400 USB scanner; I can surf
the net for a few minutes before my computer re-boots
itself. This is very frustrating. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

I am not aware of a Pentium III 266. Did you mean A Pentium II? If so I
would consider checking the BIOS version and upgrading it if possible,
as early motherboard were sometimes pretty flaky in the USB department.
Peruse the motherboard manufacturer's website for BIOS ugrades and
instructions.
