The Other Day I Was Given advice on fixing a certain problem with my
easyshare camera by un-installing my USB Controls. Doing this was supposed to
"reset" the whole part of that after the restart through Windows Update
according to this person. Well, I did this and restarted. When the computer
restarted, I got a a small screen saying "welcome to the found new hardware
wizard" screen. My question would be two I suppose...One, which disc of the
Wondows XP softaware would I find the USB download? Second, is there any way
of retrieving this without needed to do the first question? I did not have
anything saved, so I think I'm both angry with myself as well as the person
who gave me this advice to cause this to begin with. Please be kind, I am
learning. All be it, the hard way. Any help will be greatly appreciated...

It seems that you did not do the USB 'reset' process correctly.

Step:

1) Uninstall any/all drivers that you may have installed for the camera
(Add/Remove Programs...)
2) In Device Manager, uninstall any left-over drivers for the camera (???)
3) Disconnect the camera. Leave it disconnected until USB 'reset" is completed
4) Disconnect all USB devices (printers, drives etc...) from every USB port
on the PC.
5) Uninstall all USB ports, root hubs and controller in the USB section of
Device Manager.
6) Reboot Windows. XP will re-start and re-configure the USB ports, root
hubs and controller.
7) Re-connect "other" USB devices (not the camera)
8) Follow the camera install steps to the letter. (Usually requires the
driver set up/install to be done before the camera is connected.)

It seem that you may have left a USB device (camera???) connected to a the PC
and XP's Plug and Play (or Pray??) system tried to install the driver for it,
which might not be in XP yet. Follow the direction to install the Easyshere
drivers correctly (usually install the drivers first before the Easyshare
device/camera get connected to a USB port.)
