Do you have the latest drivers for the camera in question? Does Windows see
it when you connect it as a digital camera and then bang the device out or
is it simply seen as an unknown device.

try starting your camera software first, and make sure your camera is on
(I know it seems obvious)

I have a similar proble

Cannot get the PC to recognise Konica Minolta E323 digital camera as
drive. Have connected it via the USB port and the computer does not fin
the correct driver. In device manager camera is listed as "The drivers fo
this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Camera is not faulty I have connected it to a windows XP computer and i
was recognised straight away as a removable drive
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the USB controllers in device manager but to no avail

Any ideas!?!

Typically Windows 2000 requires a digital Camera to have the drivers
installed BEFORE you plug the camera in and then it will pick it up and
be happy. Windows XP on the other hand having arrived on the scene much
later in the digital camera age will have some "camera" drivers already.

hello all,
i have recently bought the same camera and i am experiencing the sam
problem, it is not recognized as a drive and the OS (win 200
professional) asks me for a driver....that substantially does no
exist.
steve did you manage to solve the problem?

ciao

You and Steve both might try downloading/installing the XP driver from
the camera manufacturer's website, if in fact the website doesn't have a
W2k driver listed.

Some drive utility software can mess up recognizing drives.

Drive image 7 completely breaks Kodak's driver.

Blindwrite 5 + Drive image 7 screwed up cdrom "F5" on my system.
i.e. cannot get a directory refresh by any means when
ejecting/reinserting CDroms. Haven't got around to trouble shooting
it any further.

Another example - USB pen drive works fine on my Win2k system - wife's
- no go - same hardware - different software - mainly MS Office suites
but haven't tracked that down either so can't trash Office for that.

excuse the top posting please
