Anyone know where I can get an adaptor to use my old microsoft f/feedback
wheel on a USB port - my new PC does not have a regular "gameport." TYIA

You can find Gameport to USB adapters at your local Mall,
or some people install a cheap soundcard with a Gameport
however I don't recommend either of those methods.

First you're not guaranteed that the game controller will be
detected and function properly. Force feedback support
of course is not possible when using a converter.

Lastly, it only costs a few dollars more for a USB controller.
The hassle and fuss just isn't worth it to try and hang on to
the old stick. That's just my opinion, the choice is yours. :-)

Those converters are ussually for analog contolers anyway. Gameport
forcefeedback controlers are digital devices that use the gameport's two way
MIDI serial interface. The MIDI is used for contol input as well as the
force feedback output. that's why even non forcefeedback digital game
controls require Windows. Replacing the controler or installing a sound card
are really the only options.

You're welcome Hawkey! :-)

Jimmy.

| Thanks for that guys.Think I will splash out on a new controller then.
