usb 2 hub needed?

I have a usb hub with 4 ports. Do I need a new one to be able to take
advantage of usb2 with my new laptop that has usb2? Thanks.

USB hubs are simple electrical devices, so the speed isnt relevant.

Nope. USB hubs are not simple electrical devices, they contain active
electronic devices.

so the speed isnt relevant.

Nope. A USB 1.1-only hub plugged into a USB 2.0 port will still run
at USB 1.1 hub speed, so speed is very relevant.
