I upgraded my laptop running XP Home Edition, with SP1 hoping to get the necessary drivers so I could use a usb 2.0 cardbus. However, in device manager I see only the entries for the on board usb 1.1 ports. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help..

Hi RJ Bachmann,

Is your laptop Cardbus capable? Older laptops use the 16b standard PCMCIA cards. Some of the older laptops will let you plug in
the cardbus card, but it will not be recognized by the 'card services' controller. You do not say what kind of laptop it is, so
this is just a shot in the dark. You might also look in Device Manager under 'PCMCIA adapters' to see if it says it is a cardbus
controller.

Ciao . . .

Also, it depends. If he didn't install the drivers correctly or if he didn't
install XP *WITH* SP1, he wont have USB2.
