I have a system that only had hardware to support USB 1.1. I'm running
Windows XP Home and have installed SP1. I got a new printer that is USB 2.0
so I added a USB 2.0 PCI card. Everything is working fine but I am having
a hard time figuring out how to tell whether the new printer and new USB
ports are really running at 2.0. Any advice?

Hello
ya when you plugged the printer in and your software was installed then it
would have said that you had a 2.0 devise plugged in but your USB would only
support 1.1 that it will still work but at a slower speed. If it did not say
that then it is working at 2.0 speed.

I didn't get that message when I plugged it into the new USB 2.0 port. I
just wasn't sure whether there was another way to tell it was really running
at 2.0. Thanks

Dave,

Go into device manager and look at the USB section. If you see "enhanced" for
the USB host controller, then you have USB 2.0

It didn't tell me much more about the USB 2.0 but it is a neat utility.
Tells me more than I've ever seen in one.
