Hello,
im running Win XP HE/SP2 can you tell me if i have usb 2.0 running or do i
have to download drivers to switch from USB 1.1?
Joe

what does your MB support?
If MB supports usb 2.0, you do not have to do anything.
Windows xp supports usb 2.0....

Look in device manger for USB controllers. are they described as usb 2.0 or
"enhanced"? If so you have usb 2.0.....

if you have only usb 1.1, all that you can do is buy usb 2.0 pci card or new
computer.

this is design architecture. drivers can not upgrade your computer to usb
2.0...

Do this: Control Panel/double-click the "System" icon/click "Hardware"
Tab/click the "Device Manager" button/scroll down and click the "+" sign
beside "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" to expand (open) the list/scroll
down the list which has "Host Controller" as part of the name/if you see
"Enhanced" or "USB 2.0" as part of any name then you have USB 2.0
capability. If not, you can buy a PCI card to provide that capibility.
Install it yourself. You can buy these cards at Wal-Mart, Circuit City,
Radio Shack, Best Buy and any other place that sells computer stuff.
