Hello,

To anyone that has upgraded their usb 1.1 to 2.0
successfully on Win2k,HELP!! : )

I am trying to update my win2k machine with built-in usb
(intel 82801BA usb controller, 2444, 2442) to 2.0 speed. I
have downloaded the appropriate upgrade package ("NEC usb
software update released on June 01 2001" - 107kb) from
Windows Update Catalog:

Usbport.sys
Usbhub20.sys
Usbehci.sys
Usb2.inf
Usb2.cat
Hccoin.dll

Now, the instructions say "after you install this
driver..." My question is: exactly how do you "install"
these files? there is no setup utility, and placing them
in the WINNT\System32\drivers folder and performing a
restart did not install/enable the 2.0 usb EHCI controller.

And, with no further documentation, I am at a loss.

TIA,

John

Hi,

Please note that USB 2.0 drivers are included in Windows SP4. If you did not
install the sp4, I encourage to do it.
