I can't get Windows to recognize the USB controllers on this motherboard as
USB 2.0. They are configured as USB 1.1 and work fine, but this board is
advertised as and all the literature refers only to USB 2.0.
What do I need to do to get Hi-Speed USB? I have tried all the BIOS
settings and downloaded files from Microsoft and Intel with no luck.

Thanks for any help.

If you're running XP, open device manager, expand the Universal Serial
Bus controllers item, select one of the existing USB Host Controller
entries, right click and select Update Driver. Follow the prompts, and
you should see the following new entry under Universal Serial Bus
Controllers:

Intel(R) 82801EB USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 24DD

I believe that usb 2.0 hispeed only comes with XP sp1 or higher.

Could be wrong.

After many frustrating hours I finally relented and downloaded SP2, which
solved the problem--almost. Windows recognizes the controllers, but the
onboard USB ports (rear) are only USB 1.1. The front ports are recognized
as and work as USB 2.0. If I'm not mistaken, all of the USB controllers on
this board should be 2.0. Any suggestions?

Never mind. My old USB 1.1 hub had me fooled into thinking the rear ports
were only functioning at the slower speed. All systems go now.
