USB 2.0 PCI Card and Printer problem

I recently upgraded my Pentium 4 computer with new hard drive and reinstalled
Windows XP Professional sp2. The system did not have USB 2.0 compatiblitiy,
my Canon MF5550 multifunction printer requested a high speed USB. I installed
a USB 2.0 PCI card and it worked fine with one exception, the printer after a
period of time would not print, if you unpluuged the USB connection and
re-plugged it would print fine. I plugged it into the old USB 1.1 port and
never had the problem. I thought the card might be defective so I replaced it
with one from another Mfg. and it did the same thing. The scanner will still
function while the documents are waiting in the printer queue.

Is there a registry key to set or a another solution to the problem?

Right click on My Computer and select Properties..... click on the Hardware
tab then on Device Manager.

Scroll down until you see the entry to Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
Click on it to expand the tree. Right click on each USB Root Hub.....
select Properties.... click on the Power Management tab. Uncheck the box
that tells the PC to turn off the hub to save power.
