I have an Asus p4c800 Deluxe m/b....I've installed all
drivers and service packs...but only usb 1.1 is
wokring...Device manager says I have no usb2.0 ports, even
though all are supposed to be. Asus says it's a microsoft
issue...any help??

Thanks!

This is just a long shot since I don't have that board. On my Intel 865
board, there is a BIOS setting for the USB port. Try looking in the BIOS
and see if you have one.

I'm gussing your motherboard has drivers, correct?

You are probably going to have to force usb 2.0 drivers on
the correct controller(s) and root hub(s). You would do
this by going into device manager, and changing the
drivers for the controller/hub. Browse to the correct
location on your Motherboard's CD. That's the way I got
mine to work.

The problem is when XP installs, it doesn't know what USB
is. Thus, it assigns the generic drivers to all USB
controllers and hubs.

Not sure what you mean by "good to go"

Is the BIOS setting for USB at "Full Speed" or "High Speed?"
You want High Speed.

Are all 8 ports enabled?

Device Manager should be showing a "standard enhanced
PCI to USB host controller.

What happens if you disable "support for legacy USB devices?"
